Rimmel London Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine Lipstick

These new Rimmel London Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine Lipsticks have just arrived at the local drugstore! They remind me a lot of a less moisturising and ‘caring’ version of the Dior Lip Glows and Guerlain Kiss Kiss Roselips. Let’s jump straight into the swatches!

As always, I’ve swatched everything on my left hand – and there’s the ‘same hand, different lightings‘ scenario going on. I’m actually quite pleasantly surprised at how unimaginative my hand poses are – everything matches quite well on the collage even without cropping, right?

Below, I’ve edited a picture to show the shades with their names in place; and the six shades I swatched were (L to R):
Top row: Glow-rious Pink, Spin All Spring and Pink Rules
Bottom row: Good Mauve, Red-y, Set, Go and Better & Brighter

Glow-rious Pink is basically a more pigmented non-colour changing version of Guerlain’s KissKiss Roselip Hydrating & Plumping Tinted Lip Balm in Morning Rose (371), and DIOR’s ADDICT LIP GLOW Color Awakening Lipbalm in Pink (001).

Better & Brighter was certainly not better or brighter for me though, and the colour will probably wash out those with fair skin tones – it’s very similar to Rimmel’s other Moisture Renew lipstick in the shade Nude Delight, but less yellow and more nude. The only thing that was better was that the shiny texture covered up my chapped lips a bit.

The shades are all gorgeous (yes, even B&B, despite the fact that I can’t pull it off) and less sheer than they seem in the tube, Pink Rules, Good Mauve and Red-y, Set, Go also left a soft stain.

My top pick from this new release would definitely be Red-y, Set, Go, a pleasantly pigmented pink-coral red that looks like Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boheme (91) – perfect for summer!
